Resocialization is the procedure of obtaining a brand-new set of standards, values, attitudes, and behaviors. Schaefer specifies resocialization as “the process of discarding previous behavior patterns and accepting new ones as part of a transition in one’s life.” Resocialization occurs throughout the life time of an individual (1992: 113).

Resocialization is said to happen in total organizations. This term was coined by Erving Goffman in 1961. It was designed to describe a society, which is normally isolated from the rest of society however is sufficient enough to attend to all the requirements of its members.
