Pollution is one of the biggest problems in the modern world. Most of the effects of contamination are produced by humans, so we could say that the main cause of contamination is human activity. Currently, there is a decrease in pollution worldwide, since the COVID-19 pandemic, people have to be confined at home. Because of the absence of human activity, many polluting gases are not produced and pollution is reduced.

Fuel based vehicles are one of the most serious causes of pollution.

A good solution could be to promote the use of more environmental friendly means of transport such as the bicycle. Another possible solution, might be to further promote the use of public transport, although It ‘s polluting the same, by transporting more people than if each were in their own car, the contamination would be reduced.

Apart from urban centers, most of the chemical waste produced by factories and fuel residues from ships usually end up in seas or rivers.

This is very detrimental because the live of many aquatic species are in serious danger. Water is one of the most important resources for the development of species and if we contaminate it, there will come a time when it will be so infected that we will not be able to use it and we will not even be able to bathe in the different beaches or rivers. A precautionary measure could be to put bins on all beaches and near rivers, so that the garbage does not end up in the water.

Lastly, it‘s worth mentioning the pollution produced by the fashion industry, because It’s the second most contaminating industry in the world. According to ONU data, this industry uses 93,000 million cubic meters of water per year, enough water to meet the needs of 5 million people and also releases half a million tons of microfiber in the seas, equivalent to 3 million barrels of Petroleum. Actually, there are more and more companies aware of this fact. A good measure to reduce the pollution produced by this sector would be reusing clothes and buying clothes made from recycled material or sustainable clothing.

In conclusion, we must take care of our planet, and to do that we have to change habits of our daily life that produce pollution that damages the planet. We must also become more aware of methods to pollute less and we also have to raise awerness it to the entities around us.
