First and foremost, the main reason for applying this scholarship is without a shadow of doubt that it is to reduce my parents’ financial burdens. While the cost of living increases over time, the rate at which the price of a college education rises is needless to say, even more alarming. That is why the cost of attending college or any educational institution has always been a daunting topic for my family. We are indeed a big family to be fed as there are 6 of us still living under the same roof.

Though my two elder sisters are currently working in their respective fields, they are struggling to pay off their huge student loan payments till this very day. Thus, it goes without saying that there is not much of a difference in the role of my parents solely the ones putting food on our tables. Besides that, my dad is obliged to take on a caregiving role to his elderly brother which in other words can only mean, he has in fact 7 people to feed.

Recently, my youngest brother had graduated from secondary school and now aims to take up a diploma course in a private university. As a consequence, this scholarship is crucial for bridging the gap between the increasing cost of tuition fees and the value my parents can afford to pay out of pocket.

Moreover, it is undeniably a fact that obtaining this scholarship would be my stepping stone towards my life long inspiration to pursue a career majoring in computer science.

As a matter of fact, I enjoyed thinking outside the box creatively to solve any upcoming problem albeit it was no easy task for me as it requires a fine eye for every little detail of each scene which correlates to soft skills any successful computer science major should possess. I am always curious of wanting to know just how computers worked, why they worked and what else they could do. It was then I knew with certainty that this is what I wanted to do in life because it is fundamentally about solving problems using its creative element. Unimpeachably, this scholarship will not only be a financial assistance but a contributor to a brighter future pathway for a less affluent student.
