Sydney Vegan market is based entirely outdoor and is a great event that is attended by thousands of people from Sydney. Triple bottom line is a sustainability concept that incorporates three parts as environmental, social and financial aspects. It is framework or tool used to evaluate impacts from an event. This concept is used to evaluate the bottom line which is a genre term used for profits that a firm makes against the effects that it creates. As against traditional bottom lines of evaluating financial profits only, this concept takes into consideration two other aspects of profitability as well, which is the environment and social aspects.

Theoretical Concept

Figure 6: Triple Bottom Line

Sustainable development can arise from social equity bottom line by evaluating the impact that an event has on people. Environmental bottom line evaluates impact on the ecology and planet along with financial or profits bottom line are taken into consideration. Social equity or people or human capital bottom line refers to the benefits in practices of business that pertains to community (Raj, 2009). It involves the several participants or broader stakeholders of the business. This concept focuses on contribution made by the business towards specific community or society where it is based. Secondly, planet which comprises of the natural capital bottom line refers to the sustainable environmental practices. This concept refers to making minimum possible harm on the environment also reducing environmental impact that can significantly reduce ecological footprints. Thirdly, economic bottom line or profits that is created from an event after all inputs have been given into the system is evaluated post completion of an activity.

Posts completion of any event, it becomes pertinent to evaluate its outcomes through which its positive and negative impacts can be analysed.
