Specific Environment Task environment or specific environment refers to the forces and institutions outside the organization with which an organization interfaces in the course of conducting its business. Such forces and institutions are directly relevant to the achievement of the organizational goals because they have direct and immediate impact on decisions and actions of managers. The specific environment ofeach organization IS unique and changes with conditions. The important constituents of task environment ate: customers, suppliers, competitors, and Pressure Groups.

Customer and clients:- Customers and clients of an organization refer to those individual and organizations that purchase its products and services. Organizations exist to meet the needs of customers through which they eam large sum of profits. But these customers possess potential uncertainty to an organization success because of their changing tastes, preferences, lifestyle etc. Therefore various organizations are making efforts to improve the quality of their products and services, stay close with the customers, listen to the customers about their needs etc.

Supplier:- Organizations need different resources such as raw materials, goods and services etc to conduct their operations. Therefore they purchase these resources from various individuals and organizations known as suppliers.

The general environment is the larger environment within which the task environment is embedded. The general environment is remoteand less easy to shape than the task environment, but it is no less important. The factors and conditions (such as economic, legal, political, and social circumstances) that generally affect everyone in an industry or market in more or less similar manner.

Technology factor:-Technology has touched every aspect of the dining experience for both the customer and restaurateur.Modern technology is affecting absolutely everything as the world comes to rely on accessibility and mobility the restaurant industry is no exception. Most restaurants turn to either a website or social media (or both) to stay in touch with patrons. Depending on the country you are in, QR codes are appearing everywhere·even on receipts. Restaurant guests are able to check into restaurants on their smartphones. Rather than contact a friend to let them know where they are, people are now logging into Facebook or Foursquare and finding friends according to where they last were.

Economy factor:- There are many economic factors that have a bearing on this industry and how fast food and the economy relate. One of the redeeming qualities of fast food is that it is insanely cheap. It isn’t classy or especially healthy or even something anyone would be proud of eating on a daily basis, but it is cheap. Sometimes, when a recession hits, fast food chains will merge to protect and increase their profits as well as to gain a bigger share of the consumer market. When price is no longer a concern, fast food restaurants typically need to expand their offerings. In 2011, McDonald’s beat their 2009 sales by $1.5 billion, simply because they added new items to their menu, like smoothies.
