This makes it essential for people to have cultural awareness and cultural diversity.
Cultural awareness is the recognition and acceptance that people are all shaped by each one’s own unique and specific cultural background.

Cultural awareness is the sensitivity and respect for cultural diversity or the fact that people from various cultures have different values, beliefs and traditions. A person is culturally aware when he or she enjoys others cultural richness instead of discriminating against other cultures. Cultural awareness is being able to see through different viewpoint of another culture and be a open-minded person to understand another culture instead of simply believing it wrong in view of one’s own culture.

As an Indian citizen, I was familiar to Indian ways of thinking, feeling, reacting, etc. I would like to tell you that India is the land of multi cultures and notable for its religious diversity, with Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Islam, Christianity, and Jainism among the nation’s major religions. Each state has one official language, and the constitution recognises in particular 22 “scheduled languages”. In the early days of my college, I met people who have different cultures.

I felt very happy to know about them and their beliefs. So I believe that I am aware of different cultures but not all and happy to study and work in multi-cultural environment.
At Grenoble School of management, I will be studying in a multi-cultural environment. It will be a great opportunity and a unique experience for me to know French culture and I have keen interest learn French language.
Internet is the innovation that has been proved advantageous to know about different cultures around the world. Through the Internet, people can communicate from anywhere and this has brought them closer. Being culturally aware, understanding and appreciation of the rich cultural diversity, is thus essential for the success of this technology-mediated communication because it increases a person’s sensitivity to the non-physical and non-vocal communication styles of people.
In Conclusion, Cultural awareness keeps one from making generalizations and informs one about appropriate communication styles. In my opinion, cultural awareness generally promotes an atmosphere of respect for everyone’s cultural beliefs and dignity regardless of their religion and community.
