The most memorable day was when I was in 7th grade. It all started when my grades where going down the hill. That’s when my counselor called me into her office. She said, “I was going through your grades and they seem to be descending”.

I got shocked since I thought I was getting better since I kept my brain sharp. Well by reading and what not.so she then told me about a special program. which was called Brownsville Learning Academy. She mentioned “it is a program which would help you with your grades”. and well it did sound interesting. So,

I did the paperwork and waited in the front office. Which also had three other students that said they were also heading to B.

LA. I gave my mother a call telling her to pick me up. She arrived a brief time later, I told her to take me to B.L.A that I was going to register there. Afterward Mother and I finally arrived at the school, which it surprised me that it wasn’t really a building but rather portables. Which seem interesting since it was open field.

After looking around I headed into the main office where I told the lady upfront. That I was coming from Lucio middle school.

She told me “oh are you here to register? If so go to the counselor’s office”. So that’s exactly what I did. After getting my paperwork done and I was registered they finally gave me my schedule. Man was I excited. I checked my schedule my first class was English which was a topic I liked.

Well they didn’t have work book, they had something called modules which was different from the stuff I worked with. Anyways it was actually easy. Soon 12:00 pm struck. It was lunchtime which I got a little nervous since I didn’t know anyone else. Well besides the other 3 fellas which in the end we all sat together. And I got to say it was actually not bad everything was going just right. Until math class, which I’m not that good with.so my teacher handed me a test locator which functioned as an exam to determine where my math skilled where at. Turns out that I scored a low grade. Which my teacher told me “you’ll start with division”.

Soon the day was ending.it was time to head home. I was excited to tell my mom all about my day and how it went. I told her after dinner that It was fun and really enjoyed being there. She said well if you are happy then stay. After I finished telling her the rest of my story it was time to sleep. Second day of school. I woke up to a loud noise of my alarm which startled me.it is Time shower and brush my teeth I said to myself. Afterwards mother called me saying “c’mon it is time to eat”.

7:25 am and the school bus was a no show. I was thinking maybe it already passed or probably I must wait longer.so I waited for a couple of minutes. Which later I called the school asking what’s up with the bus since it didn’t arrive at the time I was told. Later. Soon I got to school well since I got a ride. And got to class which was not bad since I did well on an exam.

The second month of school I started to notice my grades where going down. Since I was failing my exams and my teachers called in for a parent-teacher conference. My world was falling apart. Which mother got mad since she was doing a lot to bring me to school. Since at that time I didn’t get bus. Everything was not going well. Soon I wasn’t getting enough credits. Which meant I could fail. Then this guy named Alejandro was the new kid at the time. helped me for some time until I could get back on my feet. He helped me out in improving my grades and helped me study. But It helped since I seemed hopeless. So, I ended in giving up. Which I thought school wasn’t for me since I didn’t get it. So, I went and get a job but, in the end, I still needed my high school diploma. Since I wanted a better job. Which the day I dropped out was a memorable day since without my high school diploma I couldn’t do good in life. The negative part was that I did not agree with the school’s program. In other words, I was against their system. Which includes the credits I had to do per week. Since I did not understand very much of the subjects. That’s when I stated getting stressed out. And didn’t really care, my attitude was getting bad and like I mentioned before my grades were going down. And I was against going to school. Since I saw there was no point in going. Soon I was thinking probably I should drop out. Because at that time I did not cared. Turns out I dropped out. And got a job at a restaurant. At first everything was going great but after a month my hours were being cut off, so I got out. After that job I went to another school. It was a class to get the G.E.D. turns out I did not have the funds to pay the exams. But in the end, like mentioned before I returned to high school.
